My inspiration comes from the magic behind common nature. The changing of the leaves as autumn arrives, the fungi that grow from the trees, the creatures that call the woodlands home.
I paint in a style I coined as Natural Idealism, romanticizing and celebrating the moments that nature lends us that may be overlooked but are without a doubt precious.
I paint and write about these moments with many different mediums, including oil paint, watercolor, gouache, and most recently, embroidery and cross stitching.
I study a variety of scientific subjects, including mycology, and ecology, which regularly inform my artwork.
